I was born in Nottingham in 1980 where I lived and grew up with my younger brother and 2 older siblings before heading to University in 1999. I met my business partner Anthony way back in in 1996 and along the way we have married and have 2 energetic little boys.
I went to art college in Nottingham, before studying a degree in Two Dimensional Design in Hertfordshire with Anthony heading to study Product Design. Only a 20 minute train journey to London it was a quite different environment to my usual weekend hangouts of the Derbyshire Peak District where we had spent lots of time whilst growing up. I now have a huge love of the countryside and outdoors (which is handy as my 2 boys love nothing more than grabbing a pair of wellies and heading out!) but I also love the chaos and thrill of the city (in small doses at least!).
On leaving Uni we moved to Lincolnshire and I worked in a small in-house design team for a joke and novelty manufacturer and wholesaler designing packaging, catalogues and advertising, it was varied and good fun - it's amazing how you never tire of the whoopee cushion! Anthony went on to run his own joinery business designing bespoke fitted furniture and handmade kitchens.
At the end of 2008 son one arrived and once I got to grips with changing nappies I decided to dabble in a little design work with a small range of greetings cards which were a hit online and the orders started flowing in. I progressed onto our personalised designs, and in particular to the typographic style we are now known for, in 2012 with the introduction of our personalised wedding couple typographic print which still continues to be our best seller.
In January 2013 Anthony joined me in the business shortly following the birth of our second son, when I could no longer keep up with the design work, manufacture and running of the business alone.
We work beside a beautiful lake in a teeny tiny Lincolnshire village, with daily Red Arrow practice displays overhead.
All cards and frames are designed, printed and assembled by hand in our Lincolnshire studio and are suitable for a wide range of occasions.
Enjoy looking around.
